It was strange when you'd stop talking, it was almost as though you had an imaginary bible in your mind and was simply turning the page. Very amazing.

May your God be with you.

I have been a Christian for many years, I have been to hundreds of Bible studies. Perhaps the host was a novice and was not able to answer your question, or many other reasons. My Mom says, believe half of what you hear and nothing of what you see. But I've been treated very bad at some Bible studies too! I've been shot down verbally because I believe in miracles and the preacher didn't. I've cried at another because of the way I was treated and the whole group went on and ignored me! Then everyone left without even seeming to care. There is a saying in the Bible, "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". Also not everyone who calls themselves Christian practice Jesus' teachings. Then there are others like me who are always aspiring to do what Jesus' says and keep "falling flat on the face", so to speak!

I agree with kiahsobyk. answer with the quote. Now. My priest always told me that religion isn't just about learning ancient teachings, it's also about exploring and asking different questions to understand. I was skeptical one time with my religion and I asked every question I can to my religion teacher and the priest even and they always returned a justified answer.

Now, I know what you mean. One of my friends boyfriend is a Seven Day Adventist [I went to their church and didn't like it]. I'm not sure if it's the same for every one but at their church they bashed every other religion and Christian denomination. Hypocrites right there. Anyways, I questioned her boyfriend and her and they never gave me answers. The problem was they hated the Catholic faith yet it was the first Christian faith around therefore every other denomination used their teachings and bible and just switched in around a bit.

The Seven Day Adventist church is around 150 years old whereas my church is practically 2000. Now, I'm not dissing or anything but there are a lot of faiths that can't answer questions and if they can't answer questions and ignore people like you who are trying to get answers then they are obviously stubborn and have insecurities about the questions you asked.

- which they shouldn't have if they so foundly believe in their faith and respect it.

No. You weren't rude, you were being curious and respectful. If they can't accept that then I wouldn't go back. I've been to plenty of churches of all denominations and religions to learn for myself and I couldn't find a faith that amount to my standards and way of life then the Catholic Faith (for me anyways) :)

That's a fantastic question! I'm a Christian and i've had a lot of this too. When i committed to Christ, i was assured that i shouldn't stop questioning, but it was a different story when i actually tried to do so. Those issues have stayed unresolved, and more recently i've caused awkward silences by asking, for instance, how Christian it is to own two big flashy cars when there's just a husband and wife involved.

Christians shouldn't be afraid of genuine challenge and enquiry. I don't think you were at all rude and i think they may be doing a poor job of witnessing. If they have faith, i would expect them to believe that God has the answer for any question someone might care to ask.

I was actually quite strongly in disagreement with something in the Bible study last week, and the person leading it listened and was most sympathetic, so it doesn't always happen.

There are those who take on the responsibility of leading discussions of this sort, but fail to prepare correctly. It may be that you stumped him with something he could not answer, or perhaps your questions were inappropriate. If you would share them, I would certainly like to attempt to supply you with an answer. And, by the way, no study I have ever been involed in has "required" attendance. You could have left at any time you wished.
